I'm not suggesting exposing parts of their team to engineering is against the spirit of FIRST. I'm simply suggesting that
excluding part of their team based on their gender is not in the spirit of FIRST. I think that it's great that these girls on this team had an opportunity to experience things that they hadn't before, but this could have been accomplished (im my opinion) without excluding the boys.
Imagine if this post was the other way around, and the title read "We left the girls at home." I think that this would raise greater controversy, even though in reality, you are creating the same situation.
