4' 11" - 110 lbs.
Quick Summary: Simple (only four motors and two pistons) hybrid, stronger as a ramp bot, but can score a few ringers.
Drive- 2x CIM (1 per side) with BB 12:1 gearboxes.
- Custom-manufactured hardened carriers (do not have short pin issues).
- 6WD with 8" Skyway pneumatic wheels, 3" ground clearance, ~8fps
- Can climb a 30-degree ramp.
Arm- Powered by FP + 256:1 BB gearbox (+ custom machined carrier) + 72:10 additional reduction.
- 2-joint with simple stick-like end effector.
- Relative effectiveness of scoring: middle, bottom, top.
- Boston: scored 2-3 per match on middle/botton row when utilized.
Ramp- Narrow-orientation (28") with guide rail that can be lowered or taken off to accomodate side bumpers.
- Ramp + Platform will fit 2 robots without bumpers, 1 or 1.5 (12" + 4") with bumpers.
- Designed to passively elevate one robot (20-degree ramp) and actively elevate the second (ramp lifted by 2 pneumatic pistons). Can also actively lift a 2WD or low ground clearance robot that can't clear the top ramp edge.
- Boston: mostly single passive lifts, a few single active lifts, and one double (passive + active) for 45 points.
At Boston, we were mainly used as a ramp bot, although occassionally we got to put the arm to good use and add on a few ringers. We can also play defense - won't win a pushing match but it's maneuverable enough to get in the way and hard to push through (especially sideways). Autonomous is defensive or setup. Good reliability (no major problems at Boston).
Good luck!!
