My father and myself are driving to Atlanta, leaving around 10 or 11pm on Tuesday to arrive late Wednesday afternoon at the Hilton in downtown Atlanta.
Google Maps is predicting a 15 hour, 54 minute drive. (Although I've been on so many long car trips, it doesn't really bother me much.)
I have looked into booking an Amtrak ticket from my hometown to Atlanta, GA for such a trip in the past, as I just hate all the hassles and constant security checks at airports. If I did take the train, I'd have to change trains twice: once at Union Station in New Haven and again in Washington DC. The round-trip train fares were slightly cheaper than flying, but because of the way the timetables worked out I'd have to leave on Tuesday around noon, which would mean I'd miss another day of school classes.
