It's probably not a SWITCH. It's probably just a stop in NYC.
That wouldn't surprise me in the least...
And as far as power outlets go, there's usually two to every seat.
But don't hold me to that...
There is DEFINITELY outlets in seats 19-20 or 22-24
(depending on which way the train is facing).
Also, the power has a tendency to cut in and out,
so you might want to unplug your laptop/whatever you have plugged in,
and wait to re-plug until the power is restored
(it's usually only a few seconds, but it'll save you a power surge!)
Dining car food is VERY expensive, so bring snacks and spare your wallet!
