I completely agree with the statements about the importance of scouting.

I disagree about the dificulty of doing it with a 10-person (or even with a 3-5 person) team.

It is easy. Park one person near the field and just take notes. I did it viewing the web cast while simultaneously doing more than one other job. That wasn't easy; but it also wasn't hugely difficult. I think I collected quite a bit of good info.

So, my assertion is that useful FVC scouting isn't hard. No team should be afraid to do it. My reccommendation, like SirCharles' is that all FVC teams should have it high on their list of priorities.
