That is what happens most of the time, but sadly it is not always the case.
Last year at the Israeli regional I had a backpack stolen from our pit containing a digital camera, wallet, memory cards, video tapes and other valuables. Luckily my camcorder and good digital camera were used by team members, and my recording device was connected to the AV system (and I forgot my ipod at home
).
I know for a fact that it was stolen and not misplaced, but I won't go into that.
