I agree with the people who think it is the person's own decision whether or not to put it on ebay.
It was something that was won fair and square, and it may possibly be put to better use by giving it to a fellow team member or FIRSTer that may be interested in it, but if this is the way they chose to do that, I'll all for it.
Taking the (outside of FIRST) approach, I can only see this as being a positive impact to people who see this on ebay and question what it is.
Maybe by someone seeing this on ebay, they will realize that the program it was given away at is really cutting edge, and it may allow someone who has interest in robotics, and cutting edge technlogy ask where this came from and get involved in FIRST.
I'm sure none of you thought about that part when you started to shun the person who is selling it on ebay.
When old game pieces show up on ebay, will you shun those people who are legally selling those as well, or will you recognize it as a way to get more people asking what is FIRST, and get some new blood into the program?
Btw... this reminds me of a thread I started a long time ago.

My thoughts back then was "I'll post them here whenever I find them so we can keep the FIRST items in the family." which I still agree with, but if they "got out" is it such a bad thing? No. I don't think so because of the aformentioned reasons.
Just my $0.02.
