Re: So class of 07...

Marcus Hill - 3 year veteran of 179!

as a graduating member in the 07 class, im taking with me not only a high school education, but some very special knowledge and experience from the FIRST program.

FIRST is the whole reason i want to persue any kind of career as an engineer or architect. before i joined 179, my plans were just to take after my old man and be a pilot or an air traffic controller, but after my first year in FIRST, i immediately changed my high school elective majors to a drafting and engineering path, where i have now tested to a 4 year level draftsman in half the time. i am also employed to an electrical engineer, designing electrical plans for multi-million dollar homes and clubhouses, which before FIRST, i wouldve never seen myself taking this path.

FIRST is definately something that is going to stick with me for life, its an experience that no one can forget. there is such a strive for improvement of today's society with technology in this program. in the video made by last year's chairman's award winners, i remember hearing someone interviewed saying something to the effect that they saw everyone in this program as a model citizen, and they didnt think that anyone in the first program would be unemployed or not achieve success with their lives. i share those beliefs that FIRST does nothing but good and exposes today's youth to nothing but opportunities to better tomorrow.

as for me, im looking at valencia community college in orlando, so if those exploding piggies would take me, i'd be more than happy to mentor that team.
which brings me to my next point: anyone in the orlando area need a minimal experience draftsman? lol

ok im done
/end rant.
