While I'm not sure I'd give candy corn a top-three ranking, I find them rather addicting in the fall. Especially the ones that have a good separation between colors so you can eat the little white piece off the top then the yellow and save the brown for last.
And the different shapes are good too - pumpkins in the fall - I tormented my kids at Easter by buying a bag in Easter animal shapes- bunnies, chicks, duckies - all yummy, and all mine apparently after their reactions!

I think your critique is just a little harsh - but I know who to trick or treat with now... I also really like necco wafers and I'm not too fond of crunch bars so we could divvy the candy up quite well.
