The intent of the extra weight is to let teams do repairs or re-inforcements and not be worried about being a little overweight, or stressing out about the GP-ness of trying to stay under the allowable, even if there is no weigh in.

We just ask teams to be reasonable and if you need to fix something, fix it.

That said, if someone shows up with a brand new set of diamond plate ramps on a robot that only scored tubes just a few weeks ago, we might get suspicious. And there will be a scale there, just in case of flagrant violations*.

*Getting caught "cheating" at IRI would be worse than ... being stranded at the drive in.
