Play with the leg shape (they are pliable) and you can make the bug go in all kinds of directions, not just straight ahead. You can even make them go backwards when they are supposed to go forward.
And Paul is already teaching his kids to take things apart and figure out how they work. He's going for them getting their engineering degrees before high school
