I commend you on your independence and self-actualization. However, you're disregarding the valuable experience of others who have already been where you are and have already gone where you're going, and that's unfortunate. There are good reasons for doing things the way you're
expected to instead of always doing them the way you think they should be done.
I will be very surprised if you don't look back at this issue in five years' time with much more understanding and acceptance of what the mentors have been saying.
