Balls are the most likely suspect. The pattern for the past few years has been balls, something crazy, balls, something crazy, repeat as necessary. Also, it's hard to find something that isn't a ball that is a) available nationwide in the dead of winter (or can be made that way) and b) relatively easy for a robot to handle. That isn't saying that the pattern can't be broken, though. (And the '04 game was designed more for hanging, while the '06 camera scoring system was not implemented very well. Nothing wrong with the cameras, just the software.)
