Re: Post pics of your whip!!!

Well, I finally got around to getting a new car (see my post above for details...). It's a 1985 300zx naturally aspirated (no turbo). It's a GLL model with all the cool electric gizmos that all like to break. Digital gauges (complete with an accelerometer), power seats, power windows, power mirrors, a little voice box thing that tells me when my lights are on, lots of cool options. My favorite option has to be the t-tops! Gotta have those especially in Florida.

With the good comes the bad. The odometer says 107,000 miles but it doesn't roll over so I'll guess its some where in the 170,000-180,000 range. It also has a lot of rust. The car was sitting in the back yard of the previous owner half covered by an orange tree so moisture from the tree almost constantly dripped on the car. That led to a good portion of the rear tail light panel being rusted out. The leading edge of the roof on the passenger's side also has a nice series of rust holes that let water in. Because the roof is leaking, the passenger's side A-pillar has a 4 inch rust gash on it.

All in all, it was a good buy for $500. It runs and drives and has a set of almost new tires on it. It'll definately be an ongoing project but it can still get me from point A to point B. Hopefully I won't flip this one over...
