The only thing I don't like about the 8700 is that the screen on the front is very narrow and is turned sideways. I don't know why either, I guess it's a choice in style.
I've dropped my chocolate a few times and it has held up fine. It's a rather slick surface, fingerprints show up easily on the phone, but they clean off easy too.
