Sorry to bump an old thread, but what IS the interpretation of having an exceptionally high or low average ranking points score?

Here is my thinking:
High ranking points score implies that you either tended to lose, but went down fighting, or you tended to win, but your opponents still tended to be effective. Essentially, your matches tended to be close.

A low ranking points score might mean that you tend to lose and rarely score points, or you are a very powerful team that tends to blow out their opponents such that they never score any points.
Edit: (Thanks IndySam) - Or you were a strong defensive team that always kept your opponents to a low score.

Is this correct? I probably got the winning side wrong, since I'm unsure of the scoring mechanism for that.

I watched 1565 at GTR, and they always tended to score 3-4 ringers per match, but were always just barely outclassed by their opponents.
