Talking Foster-Miller's MAARS

Since new robots are ALWAYS cool, I thought I'd share with everyone the main project I have been working on for the last several months. MAARS (Modular Armed Advanced Robotic System) was released publicly this week at the AUSA trade show in Washington, DC. It is Foster-Miller's next-generation robotic platform that is truly modular in design. The tracked system can be replaced with a wheeled system (or anything else your heart desires) and the weaponized turret can be replaced with an arm (or anything else your heart desires). Shown in the press release and youtube video is the weaponized version. The weapon is a M240G Medium Machine gun. The arm will be capable of lifting approximately 100lbs at full extension. This is all I can share with you at this time regarding its capabilities... so don't try to pry more info out.

Also, the version shown is weaponized, but it is also decidedly NOT intelligent. It is not capable of going out and forming a coalition of angry robots bent on global domination.

Now for the good stuff...

Here are some exclusive pictures. The author is a little more crazy than I like... please don't pay too much attention to the story or the comments... but they are cool pictures none the less.
