KSC Regional Status Report #3 - Final Results (brief)

Posted by Mike S of team #21, Boeing NASA-KSC "ComBBAT", from Titusville HS, Astronaut HS sponsored by Boeing.

I have still not totally recovered and gotten my act
together after a a grueling 3 day tournament. However,
since everyone is curious here is the short version of
the results. I will have more details and many comments
on the process, the game and what we are all learning.

Well, after 3 days of absolutely gorgeous, 80 degree
weather (the KSC competition was held in an outdoor
stadium set directly next to the famous rocket garden
at the visitor center) we have a lot of winners.

The bottom line, Baxter Mt Home (Bomb Squad, #16) and
their rookie alliance partner squared off against the #2
seeed, Boston Scientific and their partner,
Baxter Fenwal (Coqui Power, #15). In a grueling full
3 match set Boston Scientific/Baxter Fenwal won!

Here were the top seeds and their selected alliance
partners

1. Baxter & Mountain Home (#16) / Honeywell Eagles (#278)
2. Boston Sci. & Miami Springs (#239) / Baxter Fenwal (#15)
3. Heat Wave & Lakewood (#312) / RLR Automation (#282)
4. Raytheon & Greenville (#148) / Banner Eng. & BSM (#10)
5. Honeywell & East Lake (#79) / NASA LARC (#122)
6. FIU & Miami Coral Pk. (#59) / NASA Space Coast (#233)
7. Pratt & Whitney & Southfork (#180) / Krop HS (#212)
8. Pratt & Whitney & PB Gardens (#179) / Exxon & Booker Washington (#57)

The top 2 seeds had between 250 and 300 ave qualification
match points (that means they scored on average 83 - 100
points per match. There were 12 mathches and 27 teams).

More to come on random team assignments, alliance politics
and perhaps comments on the finals matches.
