First, here's to all the volunteers and teams 365 & 316 for hosting such a fun and smoothly ran event!
For many of our freshmen, the Duel was their first FIRST event, and I'm pretty sure that they're hooked.
A big thanks to all teams for some great matches - the semifinals were particularly exciting!
It was also great to finally have been able to play
with 375, 708, and 836, whereas we had previously always been on opposing alliances at the NJ Regional.
The rack remained stationary throughout the day (except for when a pileup of robots moved it significantly during eliminations and it had to be rotated back to its standard position), so although there was no new autonomous incentive, there was an increase in the number of keepers scored during the competition. [Although we still got lucky a couple times when our keeper flipped down from the middle row and
landed on the bottom spider. (Photo courtesy of dhoizner)]
For those unable to attend, the alliances were:
1. 836, 375, 1727
2. 222, 1712, 708
3. 25, 365, 1719
4. 768, 341, 316
5. 1647, 357, 555
6. 423, 75, 816
7. 84, 87, 709
8. 1089, 1640, 539
Results:
8 beats 1
5 beats 4
2 beats 7
3 beats 6
5 beats 8
3 beats 2
5 beats 3
As always, it was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
Hope to see all of you again at Brunswick Eruption/Ramp Riot!
