HEXBUG Fundraiser

An announcement sent to us from Innovation First:

Quote:

October 17, 2007- Greenville, TX- Innovation First, Inc., a leader in educational and competitive robotics products, is introducing a fun and unique fundraising product - HEXBUG Micro Robotic Creatures - that will give students an alternative to help raise money for the financial costs associated with participating in high-end robotics events.

Each year, more than 140,000 students and 12,000 teams participate in robotics events designed to promote greater interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). One of the biggest obstacles facing schools and teams participating in these events is the financial cost and required fundraising. HEXBUG will provide students with an innovative and interesting product to raise money that is different than typical fundraisers.

"Robotics programs are a great way for students to explore the possibilities of STEM in an entirely new way; however sometimes the participation cost can be high," said Jason Morrella, Sr. Director of Education and Competition at Innovation First, Inc. "We wanted to give students something cool and relevant they could use to raise money for their robotics programs, and HEXBUG was the perfect fit. They are not only fun, easy to demo and make great gifts for kids and adults, they also provide a good ice breaker for students to talk about and promote their own robotics program."

The HEXBUG is a micro sized creature that crawls around and uses bump sensor feelers that help it avoid obstacles. Users can help guide the creature along and change direction by clapping or making a loud noise to activate its three-way steering feature.

HEXBUG fundraising cases come with 30 units, divided into six display carriers, each with five bugs in pink, yellow, blue, green and orange. Students will make up to $5.50 profit for each bug they sell and a 50-55 percent profit per case, depending on the quantity purchased. There is only a one case minimum order and Innovation First, Inc. will provide free shipping within the contiguous 48 states. HEXBUG orders will begin to ship immediately to arrive in time for fall/winter competition fundraising efforts and the consumer holiday season.

Schools and groups can find out more about Innovation First, Inc.'s HEXBUG fundraiser by by visiting the HEXBUG website at http://www.robotevents.com/fundraising.php and downloading an order form.
