Lost CD key

Two teams in our school district accidentally threw out their cd keys for easyC 2.0 for Vex (from the programming kit). That this happened to both my team and my brother's team suggesting that this was a packaging problem (the number was on paper CD case, and it wasn't made clear that the number was of any importance until it was time to install the program), and not simply a carelessness issue. Does anyone know how Intellitek is responding to teams who call to inform them that they lost their key?

Thanks.
