CD-Media tagging standards for FLL/FTC teams?

On CD-Media, the tagging system is pretty straightforward for FRC teams--frc1618, frc47, frc1083, easy.

The problem is that there are other events that post pictures here as well, particularly FTC teams (but sometimes FLL as well). Neither of these competitions have permanent team numbers, meaning that FVC 1114 last year (who was FVC 268 the year before) is some other number now.

The best idea I have is to work the year of that season's Championship into the tag, e.g. fvc1114-2007 for this image and fvc4-2006 for this one. The problem is that this eliminates any continuity from year to year for one team, the only fix I can think of being for some Person of Authority to create aliases each year in CD-Media (the same way that "JVN" and "JVN" are the same on CD-Media).

Is there a better way?
