Re: Herff Jones Class Rings

Hey Kids---

Guess what---your school is probably getting part of the profits from the "official" school ring company coming to your school. (called a kickback) The school doesn't want you to buy it somewhere else--they want you to pay more than you have to, and get what you don't want.

As Barry mentioned in a thread above, I got a company to do the FIRST logo years ago.

SO how is your school going to know if you go to a jewelry store, or even WalMart and get your school ring???? How can they force you to buy YOUR class ring from the "Official" school ring supplier?

Kids--don't be buffaloed into buying something you don't want. You can go online and purchase your ring, or go down to a jewelry store---how is the school going to find out???? A school can't "require" you to buy a ring.

Where I teach, the sophomores are crowded into the auditorium (during class time) and given a huge sales pitch to pay for a ring that is more expensive than any other supplier (they are more expensive, because the school is getting money from the students). Kids that aren't fooled by the huge sales pitch go other places to get the ring they want, at a resonable price.

I hope this helps you---I hate it when kids are taken advantage of for things they are emotionally attached --such as class rings.

my 2 cents
