Just like all good engineering programs include some honest to goodness putting lines on paper drafting, assembly language is a required skill.

Sometimes it is required just to remind us what the heck is going on down in the bowels of these wonderfully powerful devices.

It is also required sometimes, because there is no other way to get the code tight enough to do the job in the space limits required.

So...

Don't dis assembly ;-)
