Reading all these posts, I came up with an idea that combines a lot of them.
If there is a statue at that point in the square, then (just like in National Treasure) it will act like a "sun dial" figure. If someone checks where the shadow is pointing at 3:42, it may tell us something else. Anyone up for this far fetched task?
