My source says the weight limit will be the same, but we'll be building 2 robots this year. One 'mother' robot with full functions, but also one 'baby' robot who has a simple & cheap 2 channel receiver/transmitter. The baby robot is neccesary to get into the center of the field which has a 2 foot high steel beam around it. The baby and mother robots will both participate in scoring. And naturally the baby starts inside mother, and must get back inside by the end in order to score a multiplier.
