Re: What is your frame weigh?

Our prototype frame was 6.5 lbs, but that was with nothing welded to it for manipulator mounts and a big square gap in the front. Battery mounts and transmission mounts are welded to it as well, so those are included. We used 1" square alum 6061 extrusions with a 1/16" wall.

We're in CAD right now with the new frame and the mounts since we want to weld as much to the robot frame as possible, and it looks like we'll squeak by with about 9 or 11 lbs depending upon which design we go with. After being in the oven for a while since we powder coat it, it should be nice and strong, and beam with purple.
