Re: Video games
Personally, I don't like MMORPGs. It's mainly that I don't want to have to level up just so I can stand a chance in PvP, which is generally the only fun part. If somebody made a PvP-only MMO with no levels in which a brand-new player could beat somebody who's been playing the game for years if the brand-new player is better.
But anyways, to the games...
A few of the PC Games I like:
Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, 2, 2142 - I liked 1942 the best. After Vietnam, they made it too MMO-ish with the weapon unlocks.
Call of Duty and Call of Duty 4 - The best team deathmatch spawning I've seen. You spawn near your teammates, so the teams attack and try to hold strategic positions. However, I don't like what CoD4 did with the global rankings and levels.
Counter-Strike Source - I don't like having to wait until the end of the round to respawn so I generally only play on deathmatch servers.
Deus Ex - First game that I played that I actually cared about the story
Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 - Also very good story and amazing gameplay
Portal - Amazing and hilarious 3d first person puzzle game. Even Zero Punctuation said it was good.
Team Fortress 2 - I'd have to say this is my favorite game at the moment. It's just so fun!
Oblivion - My favorite RPG. One of my favorite features is that the world levels with you, so that you don't get horribly owned just because you walked into a high-level area and you don't get bored because you have a higher level than anything else.
Unreal Tournament 2004 - Very very fun, but it does get a little repetitive after a while.
Urban Terror - I love sliding and wall jumping
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - ET has a great teamwork reward model. I'm disappointed in Battlefield 2 for not copying it better.
I recently got a Wii, and I only have 2 games for it, Metriod Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy, both of which I enjoy.
I also recently got a DS and I only have Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, a very nice game, for it.
[I got tired of writing something about every game right about here...]
Playstation / PS2:
Dance Dance Revolution
Dynasty Warriors
Okami
My xfire and Steam are both goatsgomoo if you want to add me.
