Jumpball!

Oh the creativity! The kids here invented the very addictive game of Jumpball, which as far as I can see is a mix of volleyball, soccer, hot-potato, and, uh, youthful energy. The ball is placed in the center slot of the overpass, two kids stand side-by-side underneath it*, and someone counts "3-2-1-Jumpball!" The two players then jump up and knock the ball with their heads only, head-butting it between the three slots, always keeping the ball in motion on the overpass. If you knock it to the floor, touch it with your hands, or let it stop on the overpass, you lose the turn. I'm sure there are other rules; I can't claim full understanding of the game or the fine nuances of play. But it does play well.

* My sole suggestion to the game is to start back-to-back, so the two players can't see the other starting, but they just knocked heads. Maybe that rule should be reserved for Professional Jumpball.
