Pilots refer to stick time (or at least my one friend who is a pilot does).

It is the time spent flying the plane. I suppose that they must refer to the steering wheel or some other control input as 'the stick.' Now that you question the reference, I am not so sure.

Where is Dean when you need him? ;-)
