There is an adapter for USB joysticks but they are very expensive for whatever reason.

You may find some analog joysticks on e-bay if you search hard enough.

Not exactly. The black joysticks being talked about were in the kit of parts several years ago (not sure about '04 but definitely in '03 and several years before then). They are CH Products Flightsticks; sadly, they are not made anymore. Most older teams (low 1000s and lower) probably have a few lying around (we have five) and most likely use them on their controls, due to their superiority to the current kit joysticks. This year, we modified one of the white kit joysticks in an attempt to get Flightstick-like performance and feel (pic here), and in my opinion, we passed our goal and ended up making the stick feel better than a CH Flightstick. I would try that before ebay (unless you need tons of buttons).
