I am far from a FIRST noob, but I'd have to say my favorite part is the amazing, fantastic people you meet.
You spend six weeks of your life driving yourself nuts, losing sleep, and probably injuring yourself. By the time ship day comes, some of the newbies feel like giving up. Teams get to regionals, usually working, but sometimes not so much. Either way, the students learn to have a blast.
By joining Chief Delphi, you have started the process of my favorite part. You end up networking and meeting with so many great mentors and friends. Whether your team wins, or breaks in the middle of a match, your FIRST friends will always be there to help you out.
At regionals, championships, and yes,
even on the internet- you will meet inspirational mentors and crazy friends- and the things they have to teach you will stay with you for life.
Cherish it. Enjoy it. It's FIRST at its best.
