This is my 3rd year and I'm hooked, the friendly competition and the adrenaline rush you get during a match doing what you love (because if you're like many of us you lack the ability to play sports

) can not be found anywhere else. The fact that there are endless amounts that you can learn from almost anyone in the FIRST community is quite remarkable, and is one of the many reasons I keep coming back.
My favorite FIRST moment and definitely my favorite thing about FIRST in general is the matches. Particularly last year in the semifinals. Team 703 blocked us and with their incredible drive train broke our arm in half. Within the time we had (we used the time out) between me, another student, and 2 adult mentors we were able to replace the arm and get it working, while resetting our ramps. The fact that I started out not knowing the difference between an allen wrench and a hammer were, and now am able to fix robots

just shows how remarkable an experience FIRST is.
You'll never forget the things you learn and the people you meet.
