One of our teachers said that he didn't want to fly to Florida and he didn't like the idea of students flying to Florida. Then again this was a week after the attacks. I think it's best to just give it time. People are afraid now and not thinking rationally. It's still safer to fly than it is to drive anywhere. The chance of this happening again is low; why would you do the same attack twice if we're already ready for it? That also brings the point that at least for us, the planes we'd fly to Florida are too small to be useful in these attacks (planes from Rochester to Florida are usually 727 or 737's; not enough fuel to make it useful to smash into a building). And my last point is that if we refuse to fly because of these terrorist attacks then the terrorists have already won. If they succeed in making us afraid, then we've already lost as that's what terrorism is all about. So overall I think people are just scared so give it some time and it'll blow over.
