We've had a telescoping arm in 2k-1 (I'm fairly sure) 2k 2k2 2k4 2k5 2k7 and 2k8

It is a good bit more complicated, but we've worked out alot of the kinks to where it is a bit harder to machine but pretty easy to fix and wonderful in performance.
