The compressor puts out a about 120psi before the relief valve opens. You are allowed up to 4 storage tanks (or accumulators) at 120 psi. After the storage tanks you must use the regulator to drop the pressure to 60 psi. This is known as the working pressure since it is the maximum that can be used at the cylinders. The pneumatics manual has goo drawing and some pictures of how this all connected
