A web ring is just as it sounds.....it is a group of web pages that have something in common....and there is an organization at
WWW.WEBRING.COM that help you 'organize' these similar pages by having all the pages in the group (ring) required to have a set of links on the bottom their pages that point back to other people's pages in the ring.
One of the links will generally vector you off to a random page in the ring....other links let you pick from all the pages in the ring.
Anyways...when someone visits a page....if they are interested in the content, they can use the webring links on the bottom to visit other 'like pages'.....it makes it easy for people interested in a subject to get to other pages on that subject. (others who want to be in the ring)
I have a few pages in a NEW BEETLE ring, and in the WATER COOLED VW ring.
I'm sure I am not explaining this.....you can go to my page to see what I mean...look at the bottom of:
http://www.tiac.net/users/bigqueue/html/new_beetle.html
Or better yet, go right to
WWW.WEBRING.COM and look at all of the many webrings on many topics that exist.
