the shiny metal box is really a gearbox. just bought some gears (forget the number of teeth on each) but it raises it safely (with a pwm) in less 4 seconds consistently and after afew hours of precise machining on a very old crappy mill it works fine. the hardest part was just figuring out how to drive the lift up AND down.
