: Dan, Wildstang was at the Great Lakes Regional. They had an awesome robot, but I think they had a couple of problems with the robot. (I think)! Unfortunately, they were eliminated after the first set of eliminating rounds. It is a great robot!

Wow, I have been so busy, I have fallen way behind on reading these posting.

Well, thanks for the thought, but Wildstang stunk at GLR! We had all kinds of mechanical and electrical mishaps (some call it bad luck), not to mention I was too conservative in scoring for the opponents. What else is new - we always have lots of problems every year at our first regional (usually the Midwest regional). We are usually busy designing until the last minute and never fully test our robot - the first regional is where we test it. Anyway, we learn a lot about our robot and the most effective strategies. It is definately a big advantage to go to multiple events.

We think we now have figured out all our bugs and have fixed them. We were actually pretty solid in the elimination rounds but ran into some tough competition (da champs - congratulations!).

Anyone else stay in the pits until the last minute (6:00PM?) on Saturday squeezing every little bit of improvements into their machines? We added a stablizing mechanism (wheelie bars) to prevent us from tipping anymore along with a few other improvements.

See ya at the Midwest regional.

Raul
