Question Custom Controller Configuration

hey teams:

this is out first year of trying to use a custom joystick. we have made custom buttons and switches for our control board in the past but this is the first time we have actually tried to use custom controllers.

we recieved these industrial finger operated resistive joysticks [http://www.chproducts.com/oem/finger_resistive.html]

we are very familiar with the IFI wiring diagrams and all of that information. after spending countless hours wiring these control panels we plugged them in to find our they did not work. I am not a programmer, but i know that our programming is very strong. they said to me that the values are way off and only have about a 30 value range. we have talked to our sponsor, PELCO, who uses these controllers in their camera controllers and they say they get more out of them than that.

i was wondering if any other teams have experienced anything like this and if there is anything else that we need to do other than just wire it.

in other words, have you bought a controller such as something like this and made it work?

if so..how?
we are putting in a long days work tomorrow practicing, so we will be addressing this problem for much of the day. any replies or PMs would be greatly appreciated by me and the rest of the team.

Thank You.
