: Sorry... I hate to bring this up again, but anyone who thinks this year's competition is 'wussy' hasn't seen a competition yet. You haven't seen anything till you see all four robots pounding to jam themselves onto the ramp at the end of the round. Or fighting to grab the bar. Or one robot pounding the opposing team's arm into the goal as they're trying to score. Or a robot go flying off the bar as it's rammed by another. I winced and cringed at the potential for damage and actual damage in every round at our regional.... When you actually see a competition, then you can talk to me about wussification.

I agree with you completely Kevin...I had the opportunity to be right alongside the field during the Great Lakes Regional as a member of the crew, and there were several instances where I had to pick small parts of robots off the field at the end of a round. This is one of the most 'interactive' games as far as contact between robots goes that I've seen in my 3 years with this, and I have a feeling that FIRST anticipated this when they allowed the bumpers this year....the veterans may have not liked the idea at first, but with the amount of contact this year, the National Competition may very well be won by the last alliance still standing.

Nate

PS - The only shirts that I've seen specifically for this year's competition(correct me if I'm wrong here) are the crew shirts... -NJS
