You know, this has been an interesting side discussion to read.
I've been very privileged to spend some time with a rookie team here in Austin, FRC 2468. They are a curriculum-based team comprised of 2 classes, 1st and 2nd period of the day. They are made up solely of Seniors with one Junior.
Next year, the team will basically have to start from scratch except for the one returning student. They will struggle with continuity and lack of experience.
Freshmen/new members are very important to a team's growth, development, and continuity. In Austin, we hope to continue to help new rookie teams start and establish themselves. Freshmen are a very important part of achieving this goal.
Just another way of looking at things.
