Good Luck...

Our drivers are careful about that; and most of the time we have the ball tucked away in our iron (fiberglass?) grip so we don't really have to worry.
That arm was inspired by many things... one of them is the little golf-ball retrievers, used to pick up golf balls from ponds and other unreachable places. one of the students came in one night and drilled 5 fiberglass reflector "lollypops" into a scooter wheel, and the idea became more pronounced from there.
Whats also cool is that the entire structure above the base of our bot is about 12 pounds, and we have a ton of ballast weight in the base, so our robot does not tip even in its raised position (you have to tip it 60* on the back wheels before it goes over, or 70* on the front wheels... tested empirically ).
