look at the OI reference guide, http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/oi-ref-guide-5-8-07.pdf

It will tell you which pins correspond to which buttons.
Then you will connect each button to ground to connect the switch.

ex, you would connect p4_sw_trig [Pin 2]on one end of the switch and ground[pin 4 or 12] to the other side. You can use 22 gauge solid wire to stick directly into the oi, buy pins, or cut off the end of a joystick 15 pin connector.
