I use both XP and Vista on my laptop, and XP on my home server.
Apparently serial communications on Vista are crippled and don't work very well. While programming our robot I would encounter OS freezes and the infamous BSOD. So I installed XP for the remaining 2 weeks of build season. Now I'm dual booting XP and Vista because I really do like Vista, and XP is slow on my laptop for some reason... yes, even slower than Vista.
