Tim, I think you are right, its time for this. I don't know a lot about the technology, but wouldn't it be possible to have a wireless LAN? That would eliminate the need for FIRST or Disney to do any work, and it would get rid of the logistical nightmare of wiring the pits.

With such a system, it might be possible for teams to share whatever files they want with whoever they want, as well as for FIRST to give real-time information as they see fit.

Perhaps there is a LAN supplier who would donate the use of a server, and any team that wanted to could buy the equipment needed to wirelessly connect to the server.

Is something like this realistic? Does anyone know of a specific system we could use?
