FIRST Teacher of the Year Award (Michigan FRC Teams)

This was sent to me to post:

Attention all Michigan FIRST Robotics Competition teams

FIRST Teacher of the Year award

WWJ Radio and Kettering University proudly announces an award for the Michigan FIRST Teacher of the Year. The award is open to any teacher currently participating on a Michigan FIRST Robotics Competition team.

Any and all Michigan FRC teams may nominate their teacher by filling out the online form at http://www.wwj.com/FIRST-Robotics/1430527

The process will include online voting (like American Idol) and the winning teacher will receive:

· $1,000 cash prize
· an interview on WWJ radio
· an award to be presented at your school

Nomination forms must be completed online by 6:00 pm Saturday, March 15. Voting will commence through the same online link at 6:00 am March 18 and end at 11:59 pm March 31. The winning teacher will be announced on the air the first week of April.

Information which will be submitted on the online form includes:
- teacher's name
- contact info for teacher (phone, e-mail)
- contact info for person who nominates them (phone, e-mail)
- school name
- years of participation in FIRST (both teacher and school)
- what subject they teach
- picture of teacher

The form also provides space for a mandatory essay with the following information on why this teacher should be the winner:
- teacher and team background
- details of teacher involvement
- an anecdote (100 word minimum) illustrating what makes this teacher so special

Keep in mind the general public, as well as FIRST participants, are eligible to vote. So nominate your favorite Michigan FIRST Robotics Competition teacher and get your friends and family to cast their votes!
