I can say from experience in Inventor Pro10, that if you have some wires made that way that are intersecting, you can very easily change that by locking down some of the points, adding a new one, and free-moving it to wherever you want. I don't know exactly how well this would work in 2008, since I haven't been able to use it, but good luck.
