Every VB forum has at the very least a Moderator's forum - and it is trivial to add more that are visible to only certain users.

And it goes without saying that the admins (and possibly some moderators) can see the full user profile, and easily determine a user's identity (or at least an e-mail and a few IP addresses). Brandon knows who it is, but I'd be surprised if he'd spoil the fun by saying who.
