The refs, announcers, pit assist, logistics, and other volunteers are working overtime to get this event ready. You will be happy to learn that Terrell Burch will be the Head Ref again.
I will be the announcer for the 4th year in a row and Ted Creech, the MC from 2006, will be back.
The Clemson Coliseum is on campus and a few miles from the cluster of fast-food restaurants. There won’t be any walking to Wendy’s like in Columbia. There is (or was) a Hardee’s about 5 blocks down the hill. But I don’t recall it being there a few months ago when I was on campus. One of the school’s dining halls is about 2 blocks away (up a REALLY steep hill) and serves the public for about $6. In the same area are some other sub shops, Mexican, and a convenience store near the dining hall.
Classes will be in session, so all the places will be open. They should be able to handle 1000 FIRSTers, but not all at the same time.
Clemson has a great campus life and Engineering. Computer Science, Math, etc programs. (I am biased because I am a graduate and have 2 sons going there). Friday at 12:30 there is an Engineering School campus tour. You can sign up at the website if you can break away or come back sometime later and see what Clemson has to offer.
Campus tours also on Sunday
